Bismuth CrystalDid you know that Bismuth is one of the few substances that expands upon becoming a solid? The other common substance that does this is water.

Since gaseous elements such as Neon and Helium are so light they are relatively rare on Earth. The gases literally “float” right out of our atmosphere.

Magnesium is not found naturally in its free metal form. The metal is far too reactive.

Copper smelting came before iron smelting.

Trinitite, the glassy looking surface left on the desert floor after the trinity bomb testing, is also known as Atomsite and Alamogordo Glass.
