Iodine Clock Reaction (Harcourt-Essen Reaction)

This is a very cool display of chemical kinetics. The first reaction, which is rate limited, produces a triiodide ion. This forms a colorless solution. Then, almost instantly, the triiodide ion is converted to iodide by thiosulfate. The black color is then produced. Check out the video below; it will blow your mind!
